Training presentation for InterNACHI building inspectors on foundation drains.
On June 10, the team at Systèmes Sous-sol Québec was invited to InterNACHI-Québec's training day to present the workshop entitled "The science of drainage! Are the French drains out of date? " (translated from French)
InterNACHI-Québec is the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors of Quebec. More than 1,500 inspectors are members of this association in Canada, and 18,150 around the world. The certification issued by InterNACHI-Québec is officially recognized by the OACIQ and proves that inspectors that are members have up-to-date about the real estate industry and are experts in their field of work. This association imposes on their members to follow a minimum of 20 hours of continuous training per year. To this end, several reputable companies are invited to give an informative workshop on various topics relevant to the practice of this profession.
On June 10th, we sent our waterproofing specialist Jerry who presented new waterproofing technologies to 250 inspectors (many of whom followed by webinar throughout the province). Jerry's presentation was about interior drainage, sump pump systems, encapsulation of crawl spaces, and interior waterproofing systems for foundations. He also had the opportunity to discuss the encapsulation of crawl spaces and the repair of failed foundations in order to convey to inspectors the new ways of doing things to solve basement problems once and for all. The information shared during this training allows inspectors to increase their knowledge base in specialized solutions for basements.
