Insulating an attic, it's saving in energy consumption, in Beaconsfield.
Challenge
Several factors can cause attic problems. Air leakage through wiring holes or pipe holes and around chimneys, ducts and access hatches, recessed lights, bathroom fans, summer heat, winter ice, lack of insulation and more! All of these problems are very common in Quebec homes, but we do not always care to proactively address this problem.
This client contacted us because she noticed that the heating and cooling systems were constantly operating and were very expensive. Very often, we see the problems of loft once we are victims. Our specialist inspected this environment and discovered that there was a lot of air leakage from different locations, including lights and fittings. That's why there was a lot of energy loss.
Solution
So, our installation team started by removing the old insulation and sealed the partitions and clogged the air leaks. Then, they installed TiteShell can light covers that prevent air from flowing through the fixture, so we can blow insulation over it. In addition, we encapsulate the ducts with our Tight 'n True product which is a high R-value insulation spray foam that blocks air infiltrations. Finally, the team installed our flame retardant Trusoft cellulose insulation, which slows the growth of mold and rodents. It is also denser than fiberglass and fills all interstices.
This solution addresses energy loss issues in this home and reduces the energy consumption and footprint of a home.
