Photo Album: A basement insulated and waterproofed in Sainte-Adèle
We received this request a while ago:
Every spring, the drainage water seeps into several cracks at the base of the cement wall as well as the cement floor of the basement. The main house is very old and the basement was dug from the inside as well as the cement finish on the walls by the previous owner. The house is located on a slope and the drainage is towards the house, so the basement cement floor is still wet even if there is no more water penetration in the summer. One of the proposed solutions is to completely lift the house to remove all the soil, rebuild it and make everything water-repellent, but my goal is not to add living space, but to no longer have water infiltration as well as water at the base of the wall and in the cracks of the floor. I will appreciate your professional advice to help me solve my problem! "
This problem is so common and there is no need to rebuild it. There are alternative solutions that will help in solving this problem once and for all. Our solution of waterproofing, insulation and encapsulation will eliminate all your infiltrations of water, will keep the space dry and usable and all at a price much more affordable than that of rebuilding the basement! We are very proud of this beautiful project carried out by our team in Sainte-Adèle. Here are the pictures of the project. Problematic subsoil inspection

Rock bed on the drain WaterGuard
The WaterGuard interior drain is installed on a bed of rocks that helps the water get to the drain while filtering it and slowing its flow.
WaterGuard Inner Drain
The WaterGuard Interior Drain is installed on the footing of the foundation for the purpose of intercepting water that infiltrates through the floor and foundation walls.
CleanSpace Vapour Membrane
The CleanSpace vapor barrier membrane blocks water vapor from the walls and redirects water to the WaterGuard indoor drain installed directly below. Once installed, we cover the concrete drain and it will not appear anymore.
Porous concrete blocks
The well in the corner is very useless. It releases water vapor and can be a source of infiltration. In addition, the concrete blocks are porous and therefore conducive to the evaporation of water.
Antibacterial additive
The CleanSpace membrane contains an antibacterial additive that blocks the growth of molds that are often caused by the water vapor that emerges from the walls.
Foamax insulation
Cold walls cause cold basements in the winter and condensation on the walls in the summer. Foamax is an insulation that offers superior insulation, comfort and energy savings while making your walls clear and clean.
TripleSafe sump pump system
The TripleSafe is a system that offers three times more protection than any other pump system, because the TripleSafe contains 3 pumps including a backup that runs on the battery when you have a power failure.
LawnScape Drain End
LawnScape is an accessory for water discharge line. It settles at the end of the hose and allows water to come out without the hose dragging over the grass. Its design prevents mud, rocks and animals from blocking the water outlet.
