Photo Album: Waterproofing a basement in Lachute, Qc
It is possible to waterproof your entire basement and for good!
Mrs. Julie relied on us to fix water leaking problems in her basement.
Our waterproofing products are specially designed for the basement environment.
To seal the crack in the foundation wall, we injected the FlexiSpan sealant which is a product that, once injected into the crack, turns into a waterproof rubbery material that adapts to wall movements so that it does not get wet nor crack again.
Then, we eliminated the water infiltration by installing a WaterGuard water drainage system and a TripleSafe sump pump system.
Rusty Pipes in a wet basement in Lachute
Due to water infiltration in the area, the basement is very damp and the pipes became rusty.
Potential Causes of a wet basement
Groundwater leakage, where water can seep through floors and foundations due to freakish heavy rain or seasonal run-off, or it could be constant water seepage.
Our client was not able to use his basement suitably
Water was deteriorating all of the basement’s belongings.
Mold love to grow on wood and organic materials
As you can see here, water and mold will eventually deteriorate your place, especially when the materials used are organic.
Our client was using a home dehumidifier but it was all in vain
Do not do the same mistake; house dehumidifiers are not able to humidify your basement, instead waterproof completely your basement, and if possible install our Energy Star certified for efficiency ‘SaniDry Sedona’ that Removes 2.9 liters per kilowatt hour.
Our team started to seal the crack
We covered the crack with a polyurethane sealant that has been worked to look like a gray-colored joint compound.
Next Step
We then sealed the crack with a urethane-based sealer and then cover it with a polyurethane ether foam tape.
Water infiltration at the joint wall-sole
The footing of the foundation is at risk, but an interior drain eliminates risk by capturing water that seeps through the floor and walls.
The WaterGuard, sole drain
By installing a drain on the base of the foundation inside, the water that seeps in at the joint is captured by the holes under the drain and by the gaps that allow the water in the walls to go down the drain.
TripleSafe Pump- Maximum safety
3 pumps make this system triple safe
Pump 1 is a heavy-duty 1/3 horsepower (HP) cast-iron Zoeller pump that does most of the pumping, handling up to 2,600 gallons of water per hour.
Pump 2 is a 1/2 HP pump that operates automatically if Pump 1 fails or if greater pumping volume is needed (up to 6,200 gallons per hour).
Pump 3 is a battery-operated pump that turns on automatically if power fails.
