Photo Album: A crawl space encapsulated at Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot
This underground chamber at Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot is a mixture of unfinished basements and a crawl space in the ground. The client felt that the humidity was very high and that there was water infiltration. She wanted to solve the problem, because it disturbed the quality of the air in the house. When she asked us for help, she told us that she wanted to waterproof the recommended place.
So we sent our specialist who did a full inspection and noticed that the humidity was 79%, which is very bad considering that the recommended rate is 55% and less, preferably 50 even. He recommended a waterproofing solution and that would solve the problem of infiltration of water and moisture.
We installed the WaterGuard Interior Drain on the perimeter where there was a footing at the foundation.
We covered the concrete walls with the CleanSpace vapor barrier membrane that blocks moisture.
79% hygromete
Our specialists use tools that measure the relative humidity in your crawl space. 79% is too much, because it is conducive to the proliferation of bacteria, mold and mites detracts.
Unnecessary hoses
The crawl space is often used as space to put things that we do not want anymore. Why not throw them. These pipes only accumulate dust and dirt.
Transformation of the crawl space
Thanks to the CleanSpace membrane, the crawl space is transformed into an illuminated, useful and clean space. This membrane blocks water vapor and moisture.
Moisture and infiltration of water into the crawl space
When the water seeps into the crawl space and gets stuck, the water evaporates into the air and humidifies the basement.
CleanSpace vapor barrier membrane
A tear-resistant vapor barrier such as CleanSpace is very powerful and allows you to use the crawl space without fear of harming your items that you will store there.
Lost and dirty space
When the crawl space is not waterproofed, it becomes and remains dirty and wet. It is a lost space that affects the air quality of the whole house, because the humidity will rise to the upper floors.
