Photo Album: Repairing the foundation of a house in Brossard, Qc
Problem
Ms. Berryman's house in Brossard has several cracks on the exterior foundation walls and on the interior walls of her home. The cracks are vertical and on the brick walls outside they are shaped like steps. These are worrying signs that the foundation is sagging. If the foundation is not repaired, the problem will worsen and may cause water infiltration.
Solution
The solution for Ms. Berryman was to install hydraulic piles under the footing to straighten it. To do this, our experts excavated all along the foundation walls to reach the footing. And then they installed several hydraulic piles. This first makes it possible to straighten the foundation walls, possibly completely plug the foundation cracks to solidly and stabilize the foundation so that it can no longer move.
With this solution, Mrs. Berryman has nothing more to fear regarding the foundation of her house.
Vertical crack in one of the foundation walls
This type of crack is quite common. Whether it is small or large, it should be checked to make sure it is not a sign of foundation sagging.
Crack in the shape of a staircase
It is long and wide enough to see that this part of the foundation stands out from the rest of the house. Water can seep into it quite easily.
A large vertical crack
Another fairly large vertical crack on another foundation wall. It is large enough to cause water infiltration into the basement.
Interior crack
In addition to the exterior foundation cracks, there were cracks inside the house.
Crack in the foundation
We can see that this crack in the foundation of the house has already caused water infiltration
Pile installation
Our hydraulic piles are installed under the foundation footing in order to straighten it and stabilize it once and for all!
