Photo Album: Wall insulation in a basement in Sainte-Thérèse, Qc
The problem
Moisture in the basement. The concrete block foundation walls were not insulated and Ms. Ducharme therefore wished to have them insulated.
The efflorescence (white color) on the concrete shows that there has been infiltration of water and humidity through the walls.
The solution
Insulate concrete walls with our Foamax insulating panels. Made of high performance polyunsaturate foam and coated with a white finish on one side and a vapor barrier on the back, Foamax makes the basement warmer and brighter.
A damp basement
When there is peeling paint it is a sign that there is moisture in the basement.
Water infiltration
The client had already had water infiltration through the foundation walls.
Efflorescence
Efflorescence (the white color) found on concrete is another sign that moisture is seeping through foundation walls. And since they are not insulated, this moisture ends up in the basement.
Foamax insulation panels
In order to insulate the walls, our experts installed our Foamax insulation panels. White surface finished on one side and the other serves as a vapor barrier.
