Photo Album: Water infiltration problems in a basement in Montreal, Qc
The problem
- Water infiltration in the basement
- Poured concrete foundation walls efflorescence that means that there is water and humidity infiltration in the walls and this causes a white powdery substance (mineral salts) to appear on the walls of concrete.
The solution
- Install a sump pump system
- Install a WaterGuard interior drain.
First, a hole was dug to install our SuperSump sump pump system. It features a powerful ⅓ HP Zoeller cast iron sump pump capable of pumping 8,300 gallons of water per hour out of your basement to a height of 8 feet. Then a trench is dug all along the foundation walls to reach the foundation footing and the WaterGuard is laid in it. It collects water from the walls and the floor.
With this solution, Ms. Lauzon now has a permanently dry basement.
