Photo Album: Basement Waterproofing in Marieville, Qc
Ms. Lauzé had water infiltration in her basement that entered through the joint between the footing and the foundation walls. This had created mold and completely damaged her floor.
Solution
- Install a WaterGuard interior foundation drain all along the foundation walls.
The WaterGuard sits directly on the footing and collects water from the joint and walls to direct it to the existing sump pump system. Once installed, it is covered with concrete, ready for the installation of the floor and the bottom of the drywall, which are services that Basement Systems can also offer Everlast and ThermalDry.
Water infiltration
Water infiltration into our client's basement came from the joint between the foundation footing and the walls.
Traces of efflorescence
Efflorescence is a white substance (mineral salts) that stays on the concrete when moisture and water pass through it.

Reaching the foundation footing
In order to lay the WaterGuard, you have to reach the footing, and for that, we dig a trench in the concrete slab all along the walls.
Installing the WaterGuard
The WaterGuard interior foundation drain is laid on the foundation footing in this way it does not become clogged.
WaterGuard installed, ready for finishing
Once the WaterGuard is installed, we pour over concrete to finish the basement.
