Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Gatineau, Qc

Problem Mrs. Forster bought a property in Gatineau and had noticed damp and moldy smells in the house, along with high humidity and very cold floors during winter. Solution Our solution was to encapsulate the crawl space with our CleanSpace drainage membrane and insulate the foundation walls with our SilverGlo panels.

Very damp crawl space with no insulation

Our client's crawl space was very humid, the wood was rotting and it smelled musty.

Moisture was coming from the earthen floor and foundation walls. It must be encapsulated to block humidity and insulate it from the cold.

Installation of the drainage membrane on the earth floor

We install the drainage membrane on the ground floor to drain the water to the SmartDrain well. The membrane also adds a layer of thermal insulation.

CleanSpace coating, SilverGlo insulation panels and SmartDrain

Following the installation of the membrane, we added the CleanSpace coating on top, which aims to block moisture from the earth floor. SilverGlo insulation panels have been installed on the foundation walls and a SmartDrain well is installed in case of a water leak where an alarm will warn you.
