Mr. Birks has lived in his home for over 10 years. He planed to finish his basement in order to sell his house later. However, there were two cracks in the walls of its foundation. When it rained or simply when he turned on his garden hose, the water went through these cracks and created water infiltration in his basement. He therefore contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec for a quick solution to eliminate this water infiltration.
The solution
- Polyurethane injection in the cracks. This resin goes deep into the cracked wall, unlike methods that simply repair the surface, and goes down to the ground outside.
- Installation of our FlexiSpan wall crack repair system to stop water from coming in. It is a flexible, water repellent and permanent sealant.
Polyurethane injection combined with FlexiSpan is a permanent solution to keep wall cracks dry.
Outdoor temporary catch
The owner has put a temporary catch where the crack is on the outside to prevent water from seeping into the crack.

Foam drainage tape
Polyurethane injection should never deteriorate. If it ever did, 95% of the water should not seep in. To ensure proper repair, we installed a secondary drainage layer on the foundation wall which will direct water to the basement drainage system or dry well.
Coating sealant
To keep your foundation walls looking great, we cover the sealed crack with another light gray polyurethane sealant. It is resistant, water repellent and permanent.
