Basement Waterproofing in Marieville, Qc
Challenge
Ms. Lauzé had water seepage in her basement. Water entered through the joint between the footing and the foundation walls. She discovered this problem when she noticed mold on her floor and on the bottom of the drywall. She must have ripped everything off her floor.
Once the floor has been removed, several traces of efflorescence and humidity are on the concrete slab. The efflorescence leaves a powdery white mark on the concrete (mineral salts). It indicates that water and moisture are passing through the concrete and it creates this whitish substance.
She wanted to quickly resolve this problem so that it would not affect her health and that of her family.
Solution
Ms. Lauzé contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Qc in order to have a permanent solution to her problem because she knows that the water infiltration will not stop.
To solve water infiltration, we installed a WaterGuard interior foundation drain all along the foundation walls. We dig in order to reach the footing and deposit the WaterGuard there. It collects water from the joint (between the footing and foundation walls) and walls to direct it to the existing sump pump system. It cannot become clogged with soil and sediment as it sits on the footing. Once installed, it is covered with concrete. It can be is easily examined, as we install a WaterGuard Port to allow inspection of the system.
With this system, Ms. Lauzé now has a dry basement, will be able to finish her basement, and will no longer have anything to fear for her health and that of her family.
