A Poorly insulated crawl space in Montreal, Qc

Challenge

Mrs Tam from Montreal noticed some humidity in her crawl space. Heavy condensation was beginning to form and started to damage the foundation of her house. If the humidity in the crawl space is not well treated, it will help the appearance of mold that will feed on the wood.

In order to avoid this issue, she searched over the internet and found our company.

Following this an appointment was set up with our specialist who took the time to clearly identify the problem and provide a good solution to her problem.

Solution

First we needed to to insulate the earth because it is the number 1 cause of humidity in crawl spaces.

So we have installed a Drainage Matting which allows the excess humidity to be drained towards a system of sump pumps to extract it. On top we laid a CleanSpace membrane to hermetically cover the earth.

We have also changed the sump pump with a more efficient system. With a SuperSump system, our client benefits from a pump that is covered and does not release moisture into her crawl space.

Now our client can benefit from a crawl space protected against moisture and mold.
