Fixing mold and humidity in a basement in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Qc

Challenge

Our client Clement had noticed that water had been infiltrating in his basement.. So he had requested an inspection report, and it was concluded that the house was starting to have a damp and mold problems.

Due to Water infiltration and the uncovered sump, humidity had increased to such an extent that the environment provided a good environment for the development of mold. This had weakened the joists of the house and risked further damages to the foundation. Mold attacks and feeds on organic matter. Over time, the structure of the wood will weaken.

He knew that he needed to fix this problem, and  must keep his basement dry at all times. Systèmes Sous-sol Québec has the perfect solution for this.

Solution

             After making an appointment with our specialist, we  proposed to install an internal                 drain called WaterGuard, that will contain the water before accumulates inside the                   basement and makes the environment humid.

This drain has two pumps, one of which works with a battery. so that the accumulated water is evacuated even during bad weather.

After installing this solution, the humidity level in our client's basement dropped and he can now enjoy a dry basement at all times.
