Installation of a new water drainage system in Saint-Lazare
Challenge
Our client in Saint-Lazare was concerned because there was water infiltrating her home through a crack in the basement. Upon arrival, we noticed that there were many cracks throughout the foundation and foundation walls, as well as inadequate downspouts and an outdated sump pump.
Solution
Our experts first dug trenches along the walls of the basement and installed a Waterguard system underneath the foundation slab. The Waterguard collects water from the walls and redirects it to the pumping system.
They then removed the old sump pump system and installed a TripleSafe; the most advanced pump system containing three pumps that adjust automatically to meet pumping requirements. It is also equipped with a backup battery system in case of a power failure during events like storms or grid failures.
Finally, our experts went outside to deal with the exterior drainage. They installed an IceGuard sump pump discharge line system on the pipe outlet on the side of the house. This system allows water to escape through the pipe even if the discharge line is frozen from subzero temperatures or covered in ice or snow. It prevents water from returning into the sump pump basin and flooding the basement.
The last product installed was the LawnScape discharge line outlet system. Our specialists dug a long trench and buried the discharge line, so it wouldn’t be in the way. They then installed the LawnScape at the end of the line. This outlet system is green and flat on the ground, so it blends in with landscaping. It can even withstand the weight of a lawn tractor.
Our client can now enjoy her dry basement without worrying about water infiltration.
