Wet and humid basement floor

The client was suffering from water infiltration and humidity in his basement floor, making that basement unusable.

Installation of the waterguard (internal perimeter drain)

To resolve the water infiltration problems permanently, Basement Systems of Quebec installed our system which is an internal drain set around the perimeter of the house. This was a much more feasible solution than the french drain.

Installing a sump pump with check valve

In order to redirect the water away from the basement and ensure a dry basement, as well as relieve the water hydrostatic pressure from under the slab, Basement Systems Quebec installed a sump pump. Here you can see the sump during the installation process. A check valve was installed to avoid any water reflux.

Vapor barrier to reduce humidity level in basement

We used the CleanSpace Wall product, a fantastic vapor barrier which has 7 layers of polyethylene and is treated with an antimicrobial additive. This barrier will reduce the humidity that comes in through the basement walls, especially with the presence of old rock walls.
