Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Waterproofing/ Interior Basement Drain Installation in Montreal
Our client Mrs. Claudette suffered from a major water infiltration in her basement after a big rain, causing damages to everything in that basement including the furniture and the walls.
Our client needed to get this problem fixed ASAP, and for good, so she could reuse her basement area fully, without being worried about any future water infiltration problems.
Presence of water in the basement of the residence
Water was seeping through the foundation of the residence and, in order to have a functional French drain, we advised the lady to install the WaterGuard system, which acts as an internal foundation drain to waterproof the foundations.
Efflorescence on the floor
Efflorescence is a sign that moisture and humidity, and sometimes water, are seeping through the basement wall.
Water infiltration damaging the furniture in a basement in Montreal
Water infiltration has caused damages to the wooden furniture present in the area, since wood is an organic material more susceptible of being spoiled when facing water infiltration in the area.
Covering up the items in the basement to protect it from the dust
Our team covered everything up in order to leave the basement as tidy as possible
Installing the sump pump basket
In order to prevent the pump from becoming clogged in a muddy floor hole, Basement Systems Quebec sump pump system is equipped with a solid receptacle with holes for receiving water from the ground, and a larger inlet for collecting water from the WaterGuard.
Once the basket is in place, we install the sump pump
After installing the basket, the technicians made the necessary connections and placed the SuperSump pump in the basket. In addition, the lid is inserted on top of the system in order to trap moisture.
WaterGuard Installed in a basement in Montreal
We installed the WaterGuard along the inner perimeter of the foundation. First we dug 6 inches throughout the inner perimeter, laid the drain, leveled the drain and connected it to the sump pump, to finally fix back the concrete.
Discharge Line for sump pump in Montreal
Many people choose two ways to discharge the drain, either to the storm water system or to the sewer water system (illegal). Both solutions pose a big risk since everyone is connected.
The best way in our experience is to install a drainage system that is self-dependent and thus safely discharges water as you can see in this picture.
Lawnscape discharge line inserted in Montreal
Our team inserted the LawnScape™ Discharge Line Outlet which is an outlet system that attaches to the end of your sump pump's discharge line, and designed to deter leaves, animals, and debris when possible.
