Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Basement Waterproofing In Sherbrooke!
Moisture and infiltration of water in the basement is a big problem that many people face. Add a foundation settlement problem and it becomes a very big problem that nobody would like to have.
However, our client in Sherbrooke has faced all these problems in his home since back to the seventies. You can find here pictures of the work done by our team.
Signs of water infiltration in the basement
Water has accumulated under the slab during the thaw and rainy seasons, and the pressure later caused this water to seep in.
You can see the damage to the wood frame, so it was impossible to finish the basement.
Crack in the foundation wall
There were long horizontal cracks that had been repaired with injection. This did not work and water was still seeping in. As you can see in the picture on the right, we decided to install a vapor barrier to cover these cracks and direct the water to our "WaterGuard Internal Drain System .The SilverGlo membrane is also a thermal insulation with an R11 rating when installed.
Sump pump in Sherbrooke
The sump pump is not only used to drain water from the French drain or inside, but also to lower the water level under the house to reduce the humidity of the basement.
Here is a photo during the installation of our sump pump system. We try as much as possible to install the sumps in the lowest point of the basement, especially if there is too much moisture in this place
Installation of the internal drain
We decided that the best solution to regulate the infiltration of water in this basement in Sherbrooke was to install a CactusBoard interior membrane, which drains water that could seep between the walls and the floor as well as by the cracks in the basement wall.
