Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Waterproofing a basement in Saint-Polycarpe
This basement, which was undergoing water infiltration, had to be waterproofed. Our specialist therefore recommended the installation of the SuperSump, one of our most popular pumps. It contains the WaterWatch alarm that warns you when the water volume is very high and also contains a patented waterproof coating. It's a clean and ingenious system that does not allow anything to fall inside. In addition, you can store your boxes or objects on top without affecting the operation of the system.
Underground inspection
During the inspection, the specialist noticed that the concrete absorbed the water. This is bad for your home because it is a sign that water is seeping in and that the water vapor is in the air, humidifying it.
Sealed crack
To solve the problem at one of its sources, we sealed a small crack that allowed some water and steam to escape through our FlexiSpan sealant which is an expandable waterproof product that adapts to the movements of the Wall.
Installing the WaterGuard Indoor Drain
The WaterGuard drain is installed on the footing of the affected foundation. It collects water that seeps through the floor and walls. It is then connected to the SuperSump sump pump system.
Sump Pump installed
The SuperSump system contains a Zoeller pump, a 96-hole liner to allow water into the floor to enter the liner, an airtight lid that prevents water vapor from escaping, and an alarm system that alerts you when the water shows too high.
Covering up the drain
Once installed, the WaterGuard drain is covered with concrete leveled to your floor. The system prevents water from escaping, but allows water flowing from the walls to seep into the drain instead of the ground.
IceGuard
The IceGuard is a discharge line accessory that is installed to the pipe as it exits the wall. It allows the water to come out through the slots in case the pipe freezes in winter.
Lawnscape Installed
In this photo, you can see that the LawnScape which is an accessory added to the end of the pipe. It allows the water to get out and get absorbed in the turf, without the pipe being blocked by dirt, rocks, mud or small animals.
Hidden pipe, neither seen nor known
Once the pipe, IceGuard and LawnScape are installed, we cover it with soil and turf. All solves the problem and blends into the background so as not to have a pipe hanging in the way!
