Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: A sump pump in Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu
This customer from Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu contacted us because he wanted to install a pump that would solve his minor problem of water infiltration.
When we sent our specialist Jorge to analyze the environment and find the source of these water infiltrations, our waterproofing specialist actually recommended the installation of a simple sump pump system.
The SuperSump is an effective and economical solution to keep the basement dry. The system contains a 1/3 HP Zoeller sump pump capable of pumping 8300 liters of water per hour at a height of 8 feet.
In addition, you can add the UltraSump backup pump that provides additional protection when there is a power failure. Finally, we installed a discharge line that evacuates the water away from the house.
Installing the SuperSump system
The SuperSump sump pump system contains a Zoeller pump that removes water from the basement to keep it dry. It can pump a total of 43,530 liters of water (per charge) when combined with the UltraSump battery pump.
Basement space infiltrated with water
The infiltration of water was happening in this corner of the unfinished basement. To solve the problem effectively, we installed a sump pump system at this location.
Discharge line
The discharge line connected to the system is installed over a long distance in order to evacuate the water as far as possible from the house. We have also installed the IceGuard protection to protect the basement from flooding if the pipe freezes in the winter.
The opening of the evacuation
The LawnScape exhaust vent is installed at the end of the pipe to protect it from anything that could block the pipe such as mud, small rodents, etc. Once covered with earth and turf, it blends into the background. The lawn mower can go over as if nothing had happened.
Discharge line covered
Once covered, the discharge line no longer appears. It does not spoil the landscape and does not end up in your feet.
Characteristics of a good system
The liner must have an airtight cover that does not allow the air vapors to escape from the system. The cover must also be used as a floor drain in case a plumbing pipe is not working. The inner pump should be affixed to a support so that sediment and debris do not block or damage it.
