Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Internal Drain and Sump Pump in Sainte-Geneviève, QC
If you have read the case study of this client from Sainte-Geneviève, you surely agree that he made the right decision to have his basement waterproofed from the inside. When excavation is an expensive solution that requires the destruction of your landscaping and your deck, that is not the answer.
Waterproofing (sealing) through an interior drain system is a more effective solution than installing an outdoor French drain.
Here are some pictures of this project that we have done to stop the problem of infiltration of water from the ground, and the joints between the wall and the base, as well as the crack in the concrete foundation wall.
The installed products are: WaterGuard interior drain, TripleSafe sump pump system, ThermalDry wall (vapor barrier) system, and LawnScape and IceGuard accessories.
We are happy to have been able to do this project a few years ago and to have been able to see that everything is still in perfect condition when we went to perform the maintenance of the pump.
Wet Concrete Slab
Water seeps under the concrete slab, making it wet.
Installation of the Internal Drain
We installed the WaterGuard Drain around the chimney and in the affected slab.
Result of the Installation of the Internal Drain
When the concrete dries, the drain will be combined within the décor and will not be seen nor known. It will be easy to install flooring that will not be at risk of water infiltration.
Landscaping
When you have a landscaping or terrace, it is difficult to repair the problem from the outside because you will have to excavate.
Installing the ThermalDry Wall Membrane
ThermalDry is a vapor barrier that reflects the heat inside.
Old Sump Pump
The old sump pump was in an open well, which is not clean and efficient for the pump.
TripleSafe Sump Pump System
The TripleSafe is an airtight system that contains 3 sump pumps including one powered by a battery. This system is visually more beautiful to the eye and much more efficient than the old system. It will be easy to install flooring that will not be at risk of water infiltration.
Wall Crack Repair
A crack let the water in so we closed it with a polyurethane and FlexiSpan injection.
