Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Waterproofing a Basement in Richmond, Qc
One of our clients who wanted to purchase a house in the Richmond area, contacted us asking for our prices in order to decide whether he would buy the house or not.
He wanted to install a French drain, window sinks on 6 windows, and waterproof the foundation from the outside.
We then sent one of our basement waterproofing specialists who did a complete analysis of the basement and the problem in order to recommend the best solution.
After our client’s approval, our team installed 122 feet of WaterGuard interior drain and added 4 inspection ports.
In order to drain the water, the WaterGuard Indoor Drain is connected to a SuperSump Sump Pump System which is designed to intercept and redirect water that comes from the ground and the drain while being watertight.
Water in the Basement
This problem has been present for a long time. During heavy rains the water infiltration increases significantly and puddles are formed in the basement.
Basement Windows Facilitate Water Infiltration
During thawing season, water will penetrate through this window, causing leakage problems in the basement.
Fiberglass Insulation is Outdated
As seen here, this insulation method used did not prevent water from getting into the home.
Beginning the Project
Our team started by cutting the bottom of the wall affected by the water infiltration. They then dug a trench on the perimeter in order to install 122 feet of WaterGuard interior drain.
Interior Drain
It's an equivalent of an outdoor French drain, but has a lot more advantages because it's a modern product specifically designed for basements.
Inspection Ports Installed
Adding inspection ports is helpful to be able to check whether the system is clogged .
In this case we have added 4 ports.
TrenchDrain Installed
We set up the staircase near the door and around the water heater. The TrenchDrain floor drain collects water from a plumbing debate. It redirects the water to the inner drain.
SuperSump Pump Installed
The WaterGuard Indoor Drain is connected to a SuperSump Sump Pump System which is a designed to intercept water that comes from the ground and the drain while being watertight. It does not let the water vapor escape and humidify the space.
IceGuard Outlet Installed on Outer Basement Wall
The IceGuard allows water to drain outdoors even if the pipe freezes in the winter.
Lawnscape Outlets in the Backyard
The LawnScape is important since it allows the water to come out without the pipe clogging at the end due to sediment, or small animals.
