Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Infiltration of water through cracks in the basement at L'Île-Perrot, Qc
This basement in L'Île-Perrot was suffering from water infiltration problem. Cracks had started to appear, and the air quality was really bad.
So we sent our specialist Mike who performed a complete inspection and informed our client about the procedures to waterproof this area.
Below you can find more details about this job and our products.
Wet basement walls in L'Île-Perrot
If you look closely, you can see water infiltration residues on the walls.
Foam boards will not insulate the area
The air bubbles inside expanded polystyrene board (EPS or beadboard) stop heat transfer but can accumulate moisture and thus become ineffective. A moisture barrier may be needed, depending on the installation location.
Another disadvantage of the foam board
Rigid foam is susceptible to sunlight. UV rays damage it, so it must be stored and installed appropriately.
An open sump pit
This pit is really bad for all the moistures and bacteria will spread in the entire place.
Installing the WaterGuard Indoor Drain
The WaterGuard drain is installed on the base of the foundation where the wall and the floor meet, because it is often there that the water infiltrates.
Waterguard installed
Once we install the Waterguard, we cover it up with concrete. Only the top edge of the wall flange is visible, so you'll hardly know it's there.
We have installed our SuperSump pump in L'Île-Perrot
Our interior drain system will capture water in the soil and foundation and sends it to a sump pump such as the SuperSump.
CleanSpace membrane installation
CleanSpace is created from high density polyethylene. Polyester cord reinforcement allows it to be mechanically fastened to the walls so it will never fall off.
Installing the LawnScape outlet in the backyard of the basement
LawnScape is a discharge line outlet that prevents the pipe to get clogged by debris from lawns, earth or animals.
