Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Preparation for finishing a basement in Gore, Qc.

In a case study, we told the story of Mrs. Paré who had a basement that got flooded during the thaw and heavy rain even after having redone the French drain two years earlier. We are very happy to have been able to carry out the work with this client in 2017 and to find that with each annual cleaning, everything works well. The system has solved the customer's problem once and for all. We installed a WaterGuard interior drainage system connected to a SmartSump sump pump system to resolve water infiltration problems. We have also prepared the basement to be finished by installing a vapor barrier membrane that will preserve the integrity of the floor basement. In addition, inorganic wall panels are resistant to water and humidity. Here are the photos of the project!

The water that infiltrates these areas is a problem caused by the pressure that the water in the exterior soil exerts on the foundation walls.

A waterproofed sub-floor

It is important that the water and humidity do not damage the sub-floor and the floor, otherwise a carpet that is installed would slow down the humidification process, but harm the environment causing mold and other problems.

Installation of the WaterGuard drain

Yura installs the WaterGuard interior drain where the water in the soil affects the basement space. By installing the drain there, the water is captured and redirected to the sump before it affects the soil.

Sump pump system

We installed the SmartSump system which contains a cast iron sump pump. We have connected a recharge battery so that the system can work during power outages.
