Overview of the crawl space before work
The crawl space was not insulated and water was leaking into it. This causes moisture, mold and rots the wood. In addition to having a musty smell.
Efflorescence and wood rot
Efflorescence occurs when water and moisture pass through concrete. A whitish, powdery texture forms on the concrete. Humidity and water have caused the wood to rot.
Drainage membrane
Our team laid the CleanSpace liner on the walls and then the drainage membrane directly on the floor. The purpose of the membrane is to direct water to the sump system. It also adds thermal value.
CleanSpace Coating
Our team then added the CleanSpace to the floor. It acts as a vapor barrier and blocks moisture from the walls and floor. It is 20mm thick and contains an antimicrobial.
SuperSump Sump Pump System
Our team installed our SuperSump sump pump system to expel water that seeps outside the house and away from the foundation. Very reliable and efficient, it also includes an alarm if the water level reaches a certain level.
