Challenge

This client had a dirt crawl space and this space was very humid. This caused the air to be infected by mold spores and other bacteria. Moreover, the humid air circulates upwards. This caused the upper levels to be humid as well. Humid air in the house is bad for your health and costs a lot to heat or to air condition. This is why this client contacted us. He saw on the internet that we encapsulate crawl spaces which is something that gives value to your home while proving more space to store things. Consequently, we sent our specialist Peter who did a full inspection of the crawl space. He was able to discover where the problem comes from and how to solve it.

Solution

Therefore, we installed a system composed of the following products: CleanSpace membrane which is a vapor-barrier specifically designed for crawl spaces, CleanSpace drainage matting to capture and redirect water infiltration and vapor coming from the soil, a SmartSump sump pump that evacuates all the water intercepted outside, an IceGuard on the discharge line to make sure the pipe evacuates the water even if it freezes, a LawnScape discharge line exist to stop it from clogging and finally, a SaniDry dehumidifier and purifier system that make the crawl space air healthy and breathable.

The crawl space was encapsulated with a CleanSpace membrane and a SuperSump sump pump system was installed to intercept the waters and evacuate them outside the home.
