Challenge

Ms. Tremblay had problems with the odor of dampness which worsened over time and discomfort in her home.

What was causing this? Water seepage in his basement that entered through foundation walls and joints, mold on the walls and his sump pump system was ineffective on its own and could not remove all the water.

As she saw the situation getting worse, she didn't want to wait any longer and wanted to find a solution to her problem.

Solution

The solution:

- WaterGuard internal drain. A trench at the base of the foundation is dug to install the WaterGuard. It collects the water that infiltrates and directs it to the sump pump so that it is expelled outside.

- SmartSump pump system. As our customer's sump pump was not sufficient, our experts installed a second sump pump system that includes a ⅓ HP cast iron Zoeller pump capable of pumping 9,465 liters of water per hour.

- A drainage mat has been placed on the gravel floor. Its function is to direct the surface water towards the sump pump.

- TerraBlock insulation sheets. They are installed on the drainage mat to insulate the floor of the house and allow a certain comfort when moving.

- The CleanSpace coating. It is placed on top of the TerraBlock. It is 20mm thick and is made of different layers of materials, including polyethylene and an antimicrobial. It gives a clear and bright appearance.

With this complete and permanent solution, Mrs. Tremblay will no longer have a moisture problem and she will have a dry basement at all times!
