Our client Peter had a poorly insulated crawl space. He wanted to find a solution to fix it and reduce the existing humidity. It was so bad that even the joists began to sag.

This happens normally when the earth is not covered, and constantly gives off moisture. It will promote the development of mold that will attack the wood. Over time, the wooden joists of the house weaken and in extreme cases require expensive replacement.

Solution

In order to solve the problem of our client, we installed a Drainage Matting to provide support for the membrane. Drainage Matting also helps drain water that evaporates from the soil. Then we added a CleanSpace membrane to insulate the soil and reduce the humidity.

To drain the water that can accumulate below the membrane, we have installed a sump pump designed specifically for crawl spaces. It allows the accumulated water to be released outside the house.

Thanks to these solutions, our customer is protected against moisture damages and will benefit from a well-insulated area.
