Rehabilitation of a Crawlspace in Wickham with Our high performant CleanSpace System
Challenge
Our client, living in Wickham, experienced complications with his crawlspace. In fact, the signs of problems were obvious within the crawlspace: An unpleasant smell, moldy walls, and a constant sense of humidity. Alain pointed out the importance of taking prompt action to prevent structural damage to the foundation, which would require more delicate and costly work.
Solution
We encapsulated the crawlspace using our excellent CleanSpace system. This system includes:
- A drainage membrane that improves water drainage. The honeycomb surface helps transport water to the perimeter drainage. Additionally, this drainage matting softens the soil and increases the durability of the encapsulation system.
- A vapor barrier that protects the crawlspace against condensation, which occurs when warm air comes into contact with cool surfaces. The crawlspace vapor barrier also prevents groundwater infiltration from evaporating into the air.
Furthermore, we installed our high-performance SaniDry™ dehumidifier, which automatically maintains the ideal humidity level. Controlling the crawlspace's humidity helps prevent mold growth, wood rot, and pest infestations.
