Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Insulation of a crawl space with an uneven ground in Chomedey, Qc

This client, who lives in Chomedey, contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec, because he had noticed that his floors on the 1st floor were always cold and that there is a slight unpleasant smell of humidity.   The problem came from the crawl space. It was very poorly insulated, cold and humid. This was causing the cold floors our client felt and the foul odor he smelled. After discussing with the client to find out his needs, he wanted us to insulate the floor of the crawl space as well as part of the walls. The difficulty our experts faced was isolating a crawl space with uneven ground. Rigid and inflexible insulation could not have worked there. Our experts installed our 3/4 inch TerraBlock insulation sheets. These sheets are placed on the ground and mold themselves according to the ground and make it possible to insulate the crawl space. They are covered on both sides with a vapor barrier which makes the insulation resistant to punctures and abrasion damage. To finish it off, they covered the TerraBlock with our 20ml thick CleanSpace coating. It is made of a high density polyethylene blend for flexibility and strong strength. The white finish brightens the crawl space and makes it clean.   With this solution, our experts met the needs of our client and offered him a clean and dry crawl space. It will no longer have cold floors nor foul odor.
