Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Encapsulation of a crawl space in Sainte-Séraphine, Qc
For this project, we encapsulated a crawl space to make it less humid; as the client complained that she had a lot of moisture and that her vacuum gave off an odor and a lot of humidity. Her dehumidifier was in operation year round and it indicates that there is clearly something wrong with the crawl space.
Entrance to the crawl space
To put you more in context on this project here is the entrance that gives access to this crawl space in which there is only 30 inches high.
Inside the crawl space
This is what the crawl space looked like when we walked in to do the assessment. We can see that there is debris and there is no canvas or insulation.
Before the work started
Here is another glimpse of the crawl space but from a different angle. We can still see that there is no insulation and there is nothing to reduce the humidity level.
CleanSpace installed
We see here that our CleanSpace membrane is installed over the entire crawl space floor. This membrane considerably reduces the humidity level. We also put flexible foam to better isolate possible air leaks.
Our SmartSump
We have changed the original sump pump in this crawl space, so that it is more suited to the customer's needs. This pump will be used to redirect the water out of this crawl space, so that it remains dry.
Résultat final
Here is a photo that shows how we install our CleanSpace membrane. We add foam to remove air loss and make it as airtight as possible.
Iceguard
We also installed an Iceguard during this project. This product is used to let water out of the hose in case there is a freeze blockage in the hose. In addition, this discharge line will not be visible, as it will be buried in the ground.
