Mr. Bernier had humidity problems in his cottage. Its crawl space is earth and only a few foundation walls were insulated. There were also windows which were not insulated. The high humidity in his crawl space came from the earthen floor and outside. And because of that, the rest of the house was affected and so was its comfort. How did we solve the problem? - Installed a SmartSump sump pump system connected to an external discharge line to expel soil water away from the foundation. - Insulated walls and windows that had no insulation with SilverGlo. - Layed a drainage mat on the earthen floor. The purpose of this is to drain the surface water towards the sump pump. - Placed flexible TerraBlock insulation sheets over the drainage mat. They insulate and protect the crawl space as well as the house from humidity. - Installed our 20 mm thick CleanSpace polyethylene liner on the TerraBlock. It locks in moisture, is antimicrobial, and provides a clear, bright appearance in crawl spaces. - Added our Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier to filter the air and control the humidity level. With this complete solution, Mr. Bernier will no longer have a humidity problem in his crawl space and will find comfort in his home.

Some walls and windows in this crawl space were not insulated. And even the floor had no protection against moisture. The soil should be covered with earth to block moisture from the soil.

TerraBlock Drainage Matts and Insulating Sheets

In order to cover the earthen floor, our experts installed a drainage mat to direct surface water to the sump pump. It is covered with TerraBlock insulation sheets to insulate the earthen floor of the house.

Wall insulation with SilverGlo

The walls of the crawl space that were not insulated were insulated with our SilverGlo panels. 2 '' thick insulation with radiant barrier to isolate the cold and reflect heat inside the crawl space.

Our SmartSump sump pump system

It contains a powerful ⅓ HP Zoeller cast iron pump capable of pumping 9465 liters of water per hour to a height of 5 feet.

Discharge line

Connected with the sump pump system, the discharge line rejects water away from the foundation.

Overview with CleanSpace

Once the drainage mat and TerraBlock have been laid on the earthen floor, the CleanSpace coating is installed. This excellent trio wicks away moisture and insulates the earthen floor of the house.
