Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Encapsulating an unstable crawl space foundation in Verdun, Qc
Problem
The floor of Mr. Hudson's house had been sagging for a long time. The floor was not straight and our client was having difficulty closing the doors and windows. Lots of humidity got in the crawl space.
Solution
Reinforce the structure of the house with our galvanized steel SmartJack pillars. Insulate and encapsulate the crawl space to reduce humidity and make it a storage space. Hence, the space will be drier and the air healthier.
Overview of the crawl space before the work had started
There was a lack of support pillars in the crawl space to properly support the weight of the house. There was also a lot of humidity coming from the earthen floor and the walls as they were not insulated.
Installing SilverGlo Insulation Panels
Uninsulated foundation walls allow moisture to infiltrate into the crawl space and make the house damp. It is important to isolate it.
Installation
Our experts installed our SilverGlo insulation panels on the foundation walls, the drainage membrane on the earth floor and then the SmartJack pillars.
