Cracks and unstable foundation in Montreal

Our client Sabine who lives in Montreal had foundation problem in her house. It had cracks for several years and despite several interior renovations new ones always appear. These cracks have caused several water infiltrations in the house and a high level of humidity .

So the floor needed to be supported because the support columns in the crawl space were sagging. This lack of support was the source of the cracks.

Solution

In order to solve the problem definitively, we installed 12 Smartjacks to support the floor of the house. The SmartJack system is a patented Systèmes Sous-sol Québec support beam that is made of galvanized steel. It effectively lifts and supports the support beams of homes that have a crawl space.
