Foundation Repair Photo Album: Replacement of support beams and pillars in a crawl space in Massueville, Qc
In this crawl space in Massueville, our experts discovered several problems:
- A cold and wet crawl space
- Split wooden support beams
- Rusty support pillars
- Water infiltration
The weight of the house cracked the wooden beams, and the moisture in the crawl space rusted the supporting pillars. These factors threatened the support of the entire house.
In order to solve the foundation problem, our experts added 3 additional wooden beams to the existing ones in order to properly support and distribute the weight of the house. They dug in places in the crawl space to install a total of 10 SmartJack support pillars. They are made from galvanized steel and are used to stabilize and level beams and floor joists in the crawl space. Then, to fix the water infiltration problem, the customer already had a working sump pump so our experts installed a stamped polyethylene drainage membrane that allows water to flow to the sump pump. . To finalize, they laid our CleanSpace coating over the drainage membrane as an insulating layer. This coating has several functions, including preventing water from the floor from evaporating and creating humidity in the crawl space.
Our client will no longer have to worry about his crawl space nor his foundation. His crawl space is now clean and dry and its foundation leveled and stabilized.
