Mrs. Rooney called Systèmes Sous-sols Québec because she had several problems with her crawl space. The floor of the crawl space was filled with dirt. There was also mold growing on the ceiling which caused the floor above the crawl space to be soft in too many areas. In addition, it had been noticed that there was water seeping inside.

In order to solve our client's problems, our team installed a drainage membrane on the floor to help water find its way to the drainage system. Then, we covered the floor with a CleanSpace membrane, which mainly serves to prevent water vapor from leaving the floor and rising to the upper floors. Next, we installed SmartJack systems, which are galvanized steel beams used to support the sagging floor. Finally,we had installed SmartDrain drainage systems, which are used to get rid of infiltrating water.

Mrs. Forster recently purchased a property located in Gatineau, and has discovered problems with dampness along with musty smell in the house. In winter the main floor is very cold. She contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Qc to obtain a free inspection and find out the costs of insulating her crawl space.

To solve her problem, our team encapsulated her crawl space with our CleanSpace drainage membrane and liner, and insulated the foundation walls with our SilverGlo panels. With this solution, our client will be able to have a comfortable home.

The problem? Of course the humidity that was in the crawl space. He contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec to add a good vapor barrier membrane and clean the crawl space to improve air quality and reduce humidity.

Our solution was the addition of a SmartSump sump pump system and the addition of a drainage membrane and CleanSpace vapor barrier. Most of the moisture in the crawl space comes from the earthen floor which contains water and from the walls. The SmartSump will therefore be able to remove water from the ground outside and away from the foundation. The drainage membrane, on the other hand, is placed on the ground and makes it possible to drain the water that is on the surface, towards the sump pump system. The CleanSpace coating which acts as a vapor barrier is placed over the drainage membrane and blocks moisture from the ground.

With this solution, Mr. Sirois will be able to have a much drier and healthier crawl space. This improves the air quality, but for more efficiency it would also be better to add a dehumidifier like the Sanidry Sedona.
