It allows water to escape if the pipes freeze or become blocked for any reason. Without this system, the basement could be flooded in winter. Evacuation line

In order to direct the water out, an exterior drain line nearly 20 feet long was put underground to force the water away from the house. At the end of it, a LawnScape outlet has been installed which allows the outlet of the pipe to be camouflaged.
