Sump Pump Installation Photo Album: Encapsulating a crawl space in SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, Qc
Mr. Turcotte had a wet crawl space that was poorly insulated and some of the wooden beams were starting to rot. The humidity in the crawl space comes from the lack of insulation on the walls and the floor and then from water infiltration.
The solution
- Insulate the walls and the floor and add a sump pump system.
Insulate crawl space walls with our SilverGlo panels. The earthen floor was insulated with our drainage membrane and then our Moisture-wicking CleanSpace coating. Next, to reduce humidity, we installed a SuperSump sump pump system. It contains a 1 / 3HP cast iron Zoeller pump and we have added a battery pump that works in the event of a power failure and that keeps the sump running. Finally, our Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to control the humidity level and filter the air.
Wet and poorly insulated crawl space
This crawl space was very humid due to poor insulation on the walls and the floor. There was also small water infiltration in the crawl space.
Rot on wood
One of the consequences of a wet crawl space is rotting of the wood and the creation of mold.
Customer's old sump pump
The customer's sump pump was not optimal and he could not rely on it.
Drainage membrane
Our experts laid the drainage membrane on the earthen floor. The purpose of this is to drain the surface water to the SuperSump sump pump system.
CleanSpace Coating and SilverGlo Panels
The CleanSpace coating was installed over the drainage membrane on the floor. SilverGlo panels are made to insulate walls. They block moisture and reflect heat.
Our SuperSump sump pump system
Our expert replaced the customer's old system with our SuperSump. It contains a Zoeller 1 / 3HP pump and a battery-operated pump that trips in the event of a power failure.
Sanidry Sedona Dehumidifier
Our dehumidifier is simply the best for making your basement or crawl space dry. It filters the air and you can easily counter the humidity level.
