The problem

The foundation walls of Mr. Milette's house cannot endure the pressure of the soil. Two foundation walls were slightly arched towards the interior of the basement with a long horizontal crack in the middle of the walls.

The solution

Support and strengthen the walls!

The solution for our client was the installation of 8 PowerBrace beams as well as the Carbon Armor reinforcement device. PowerBrace beams are a patented device designed to support foundation walls and provide potential straightening over time. It is a permanent and reliable solution. And then the CarbonArmor device was applied in order to reinforce the two cracked and slightly arched walls.

PROBLEM

Our client, Ms. Camille, had noticed that for a while, the exterior door to her basement had difficulty opening and closing. When a contractor came to do the work, he suggested installing screw piles to solve this problem.

SOLUTION

The entrepreneur was right; the problems were caused because the foundation of his chalet was not stable. Our team therefore installed 2 PushPier screw piles. This guarantees a solid foundation.

We also installed CarbonArmor, which was used to stabilize a foundation wall from the inside. With the ArmorLock system, a super-strong carbon fiber strap is fused to each ArmorLock strip and anchored to a heavy-duty steel bracket that’s lag-screwed to the rim joist.

Problem

Stone foundation walls are cracked and one part of the wall is falling inwards.

Solution

Creation of a retaining wall on which we installed our PowerBrace beams to stabilize the inclined wall.

Foundation cracks are a big problem that many owners in Sherbrooke face. Reparations by injection, as you can see in the Before picture, is not always the best solution especially if the crack is horizontal. In this case, there is a good chance that water will penetrate back just like it happened with this client. 

We consequently installed a vapor barrier to drain the water towards the interior drain and to have a permanent solution. The SilverGlo membrane as shown in the picture, has an R-value of 11 to isolate foundation walls all over Quebec.
