Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

The SmartJack system raises and stabilizes beams and floor joists in your crawl space. A specially designed solid backfill base addresses the problem of inadequate foundation soil by transferring the weight of the house to a competent soil layer. Steel columns are secured under the beams or joists of the crawl space. Robust threaded rods allow each SmartJack pole to be adjusted to the desired height. Like most basements, this one had water intrusions at the entrances. The owner contacted us to find out what we could do to resolve this problem. Our waterproofing system is installed above the footing, under the concrete. It thus captures all the water that rises from the ground before it reaches the surface and directs it to the water pump that we have installed at the lowest point. In order to prevent moisture from escaping into the house, we also installed a vapor barrier membrane on the walls.

Before tackling this Venise-en-Québec home's cold floors, our customer's crawl space was a dusty haven of earth and rock, visibly lacking the proper insulation it needed, as you can see in the 'before' photo. Mr. Toupin has a very humid crawl space. The floor and some walls were not insulated which allowed moisture from the floor and the outside to seep into the crawl space. He wanted  to use it more to store his belongings.So he contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Québec in order to have a reliable and permanent solution.

The solution for our client was to install our drainage membrane on the earth floor and then lay our CleanSpace coating on top. These two products are flexible and could have been installed well on the floor of this crawl space. The humidity is therefore blocked which allows the crawl space to be dry. It also gives it a clear appearance.
